(EN)The present invention provides a method and system for facilitating efficient handoff and data throughput in mobile broadband communication systems. Methods implemented by a system constructed in accordance with the principles of the present invention include selectively enabled soft handoff, performing Layer 2 bearer functions at the base station and using the mobile device to coordinate soft handoff and interference avoidance without the need for a centralized coordination function.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé et un système destinés à faciliter le transfert efficace et le débit de données dans des systèmes de communication mobiles à large bande. Les procédés mis en oeuvre par un système construit selon les principes de l'invention, consistent à utiliser le transfert intercellulaire sans coupure activé sélectivement, à exécuter les fonctions de la porteuse de Couche 2 au niveau de la station de base et à utiliser le dispositif mobile pour coordonner le transfert intercellulaire sans coupure et la suppression des interférences sans qu'une fonction de coordination centralisée soit nécessaire.
