(EN)Provided are methods and compositions for treating autism spectrum disorders by administering an antioxidant or agent that stabilize or enhance expression of altered neuroligins. An aspect of the disclosure includes site-specific delivery of the antioxidant to the endoplasmic recticulum (ER) to reverse incorrect disulfide binding of the protein neuroligin. Also disclosed is a method of targeting the antioxidant to neuroligin by using the calcium binding or other recognition site of neuroligin to bind the antioxidant. The antioxidant can be cysteamine linked to a molecule which binds to a binding site.
(FR)On fournit des procédés et des compositions pour traiter des troubles du spectre de l’autisme en administrant un antioxydant ou un agent qui stabilise ou améliore l’expression des neuroligines altérées. Un aspect de la description inclut la remise sur un site spécifique de l’antioxydant au recticulum endoplasmique (RE) pour inverser la liaison disulfure incorrecte de la protéine neuroligine. On décrit également un procédé de ciblage de l’antioxydant sur la neuroligine en utilisant la liaison calcium ou un autre site de reconnaissance de la neuroligine pour lier l’antioxydant. L’antioxydant peut être lié par cystéamine à une molécule qui se lie à un site de liaison.
