(EN) Dental restorations can be made by acquiring a three-dimensional digitized image of a dental restoration site. A ceramic blank from which volatile organic binders have been removed, is then machined according to the three-dimensional digitized image to form a 'brown' ceramic restoration. This material is then sintered using microwave energy to provide a high density ceramic dental restoration corresponding to the dental restoration site. This method can be carried out within a few hours thereby saving the patient several dental visits and enabling the dentist to better serve the patient directly in the office.
(FR)L'invention concerne des restaurations dentaires obtenues par acquisition d'une image numérisée tridimensionnelle d'un site de restauration dentaire. Une ébauche céramique à partir de laquelle des liants organiques volatils ont été retirés est ensuite usinée en fonction de l'image numérisée tridimensionnelle, de manière à former une restauration céramique 'brune'. Ce matériau est ensuite fritté au moyen d'énergie micro-ondes, de manière à obtenir une restauration dentaire céramique à densité élevée correspondant au site de restauration dentaire. Ce procédé peut être mis en oeuvre en quelques heures, le patient ne devant ainsi pas se rendre à plusieurs reprises chez son dentiste, lequel peut ainsi mieux soigner son patient directement dans son cabinet.
