A brake controller function to optimally brake a wheel of a vehicle in motion, such as an aircraft. The brake pressure control self regulates by means of applying brake pressure in accordance with vehicle acceleration information and the change in acceleration over time in the horizontal plane. Vehicle acceleration and information about its change enable a brake pressure control function to determine the brake pressure associated with maximum obtainable retardation for a vehicle at that given point in time. By continuously monitoring acceleration change and detecting retardation pinnacles, the culmination and turning points of retardation, with their associated brake pressure, maximum braking ability is assured at any given time. By applying acceleration data in real time as a controls reference in a brake logic control function to increase or reduce brake pressure, such a brake control function will assure a brake pressure perfectly fit with net of all the forces that a vehicle is subjected to. It will ensure optimal brake level with respect the vehicle tire/pavement surface interface.

Cette invention se rapporte à un contrôleur de frein qui fonctionne de façon à exercer un freinage optimal sur une roue d'un véhicule en mouvement, tel qu'un avion. On réalise l'autorégulation du contrôle de la pression de frein en appliquant une pression de frein qui tient compte des informations d'accélération du véhicule et des variations d'accélération dans le temps dans le plan horizontal. L'accélération du véhicule et les informations sur sa variation permettent à une fonction de contrôle de la pression de frein de déterminer la pression de frein associée à une décélération maximum atteignable pour un véhicule à un moment donné. En surveillant en continu les variations d'accélération et en détectant les pics de décélération, les points culminants et les changements de direction de la décélération, avec leur pression de frein associée, on assure une capacité de freinage maximum à n'importe quel moment donné. En appliquant les données d'accélération en temps réel comme référence de contrôle dans une fonction de contrôle de logique de frein pour augmenter ou réduire la pression de freinage, la fonction de contrôle de frein faisant l'objet de cette invention va assurer que la pression de freinage s'adapte parfaitement au faisceau de toutes les forces auxquelles est soumis le véhicule. On assure ainsi un niveau de freinage optimal qui tient compte de l'interface entre la surface de revêtement du sol et les pneus du véhicule.
