Abstract

A method and apparatus for estimating a location of pulmonary and aortic components of second heart sounds of a patient over an interval. The method comprises the steps of producing an electronic representation of heart sounds of the patient over the interval, identifying at least one second heart sound in the interval using the electronic representation, for each identified second heart sound generating an estimated value for a location of the aortic component and the pulmonary component. There is also included a method for using the estimated location of the aortic component and the pulmonary component for estimation of the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery of a patient.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour la localisation des composantes aortiques et pulmonaires des deuxièmes bruits d'un patient sur un intervalle. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à produire une représentation électronique des bruits du coeur d'un patient sur ledit intervalle, à identifier au moins un deuxième bruit dans l'intervalle au moyen de la représentation électronique, pour chaque deuxième bruit identifié à générer une valeur estimée pour une localisation de la composante aortique et de la composante pulmonaire. L'invention porte également sur un procédé d'utilisation de la localisation estimée de la composante aortique et de la composante pulmonaire pour l'estimation de la pression artérielle dans l'artère pulmonaire d'un patient.
