A method of simulating and optimizing qualification testing of lubricating oil products, the method including: passing a plurality of lubricating oil product characteristics to a simulator engine, where the simulator engine includes a plurality of simulated qualification tests and processing the lubricating oil product characteristics in one or more of the simulated qualification tests, where the output of each simulated qualification test includes a probability of passing indicator for indicating the probability that a lubricating oil product have the inputted characteristics would pass an actual qualification test; passing an input of the plurality of lubricating oil product characteristics, the probability of passing indicator from each simulated qualification test, and a proposed test sequence of a plurality of qualification tests to a strategy simulator engine and processing the input to determine a probability of passing indicator, cost and time duration of the proposed test sequence.

L'invention concerne un procédé de simulation et d'optimisation d'essais de qualification de produits d'huile de graissage. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à : introduire une pluralité de caractéristiques de produit d'huile de graissage dans un moteur de simulation, ledit moteur comprenant une pluralité d'essais de qualification simulés ; et traiter les caractéristiques à l'aide d'un ou de plusieurs des essais de qualification simulés, le résultat de chacun des essais comprenant une probabilité de réussite qui indique la probabilité selon laquelle un produit d'huile de graissage présentant les caractéristiques introduites passe avec succès un essai de qualification réel ; introduire dans un moteur de simulation de stratégie la pluralité des caractéristiques de produit d'huile de graissage, la probabilité de réussite provenant de chaque essai de qualification simulé, et une séquence d'essais proposée comprenant une pluralité d'essais de qualification ; et traiter les données introduites afin de déterminer la probabilité de réussite, le coût et la durée de la séquence d'essais proposée.
