(EN)A resistor apparatus for containing broken pieces of an overheated resistor body is provided. The resistor apparatus includes a resistor body and a first and second lead wire electrically connected to opposite sides of the core. A gas permeable containment casing substantially encloses the resistor body and is fixed to the lead wires by fasteners, therefore maintaining the containment casing in a position substantially enclosing the resistor body. In the event that the resistor overheats and the resistor body breaks, the containment casing is maintained in a position to contain any pieces of the overheated resistor that break away, while allowing any gasses to escape, therefore preventing explosion of the containment casing and damage to surrounding apparatuses.
(FR)L'invention concerne un appareil de résistance destiné à contenir des pièces brisées d'un corps de résistance surchauffée. Ledit appareil de résistance comprend un corps de résistance et un premier et un second fils de connexion connectés électriquement au côtés opposés d'un noyau. Un boîtier de confinement perméable aux gaz entoure sensiblement le corps de résistance et est fixé aux fils de connexion au moyens de fixations, ce qui permet de maintenir ledit boîtier de confinement dans une position enfermant sensiblement ledit corps de résistance. En cas de surchauffe de la résistance et de bris du corps de résistance, le boîtier de confinement est maintenu en position afin de contenir des pièces quelconques de la résistance surchauffée qui se sont brisées tout en permettant l'échappement de gaz quelconques, ce qui empêche l'explosion du boîtier de confinement et évite d'endommager les appareils environnant.
