(EN)The invention relates to a method to remove metaloxides from at least the surface of a substrate comprising a stone-like material that contains at least one earth-alkaline metal, wherein an aqueous alkaline solution comprising thioglycolate salts is brought into contact with said metaloxide-containing substrate for a relatively short but sufficient time to allow said solution to react with and bind to said oxides. The surface is subsequently brought into contact with water during at least one rinsing operation and wiped to remove the reaction products comprising the so bonded metaloxides.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'éliminer des oxydes métalliques d'au moins la surface d'un substrat comprenant un matériau de type pierre renfermant au moins un métal alcalino-terreux, une solution alcaline aqueuse comprenant des sels de thioglycolate étant amenée en contact avec le substrat comprenant des oxydes métalliques pendant une durée relativement courte mais suffisante pour permettre à la solution de réagir avec les oxydes et de se lier à ceux-ci. La surface est ensuite amenée en contact avec l'eau pendant au moins une opération de rinçage et essuyée afin d'éliminer les produits de réaction comprenant les oxydes métalliques ainsi liés.
