(EN)The present invention provides an electrochemical method for producing diaryl iodonium compounds wherein application of an electric current to an electrochemical cell containing a reaction mixture composed of a solvent, an iodoaryl compound and an electrolyte forms an oxidizing agent in situ. In this first step, the oxidizing agent is subsequently converted into a stable oxidized iodoaryl intermediate, typically an iodosyl compound. The electric potential is removed and in a second step a target aryl compound is introduced to the reaction mixture to react with the oxidized iodoaryl intermediate to form a diaryl iodonium compound.
(FR)L'invention concerne une méthode électrochimique qui permet de produire des composés de iodonium de diaryle. L'application d'un courant électrique sur une cellule électrochimique contenant un mélange de réaction composé d'un solvant, d'un composé iodoaryle et d'un électrolyte forme un agent oxydant in situ. Dans cette première étape, l'agent oxydant est ensuite converti en un intermédiaire iodoaryle stable oxydé, généralement un composé iodosyle. Le potentiel électrique est supprimé et, dans une seconde étape, un composé aryle cible est introduit dans le mélange de réaction de façon qu'il réagisse avec l'intermédiaire iodoaryle oxydé afin de former un composé iodonium diaryle.
