(EN) A system and method for inspecting a reformer tube (64) employed in chemical processing for damage such as creep and metal dusting. The method includes the steps of focusing a coherent light beam (65) onto an interior of a tube or piping (64) and detecting at least a portion of a reflection of the light beam from the tubing by converting the detected light beam (65) into an electrical signal and the processing of the electrical signal to determine a radius of tube (64) under-going in situ inspection.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système et une méthode pour inspecter un tube de reformeur utilisé dans un traitement chimique. Cette inspection est destinée à détecter le fluage et l'effusement métallique du tube. La méthode de l'invention comprend les étapes consistant à: focaliser un faisceau lumineux cohérent sur l'intérieur d'un tube ou d'un conduit et détecter au moins une partie d'un reflet du faisceau lumineux provenant du tube, en convertissant le faisceau lumineux détecté en un signal électrique, puis traiter le signal électrique pour déterminer un rayon du tube soumis à l'inspection <i>in situ</i>.
