(EN)A flow-through internal combustion engine comprising an arrangement for compressing air, a combustion chamber with a fuel injection arrangement and optionally an arrangement for water injection, and an arrangement for expanding exhaust gas, wherein the expansion arrangement (4) is constituted by a piston arrangement, especially of the type that produces reciprocal motion or rotational motion, and the flow of air and exhaust gas through the combustion chamber (2) is unidirectional. In an alternative solution the air compressing arrangement (1) and the expanding arrangement (4) are constituted by the same piston arrangement, especially one of the type that produces reciprocal motion or rotational motion, and the flow of air and exhaust gas through the combustion chamber is also unidirectional.
(FR)L'invention concerne un moteur à combustion interne à écoulement comportant un ensemble de compression d'air, une chambre de combustion avec un ensemble d'injection de carburant, éventuellement un ensemble d'injection d'eau, et un ensemble d'expansion de gaz d'échappement, ledit ensemble d'expansion (4) comportant un ensemble piston, notamment du type créant un mouvement de va-et-vient ou un mouvement rotatif. L'écoulement d'air et de gaz d'échappement à travers la chambre de combustion (2) est unidirectionnel. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, l'ensemble de compression d'air (1) et l'ensemble d'expansion (4) sont constitués du même ensemble piston, notamment du type créant un mouvement de va-et-vient ou un mouvement rotatif et l'écoulement d'air et de gaz d'échappement à travers la chambre de combustion est aussi unidirectionnel.
