A system and method is provided for the capture of bodily fluid upon lancing of a patient. In one embodiment, the fluid sample capture aperture mesh (320) ring is placed in the pathway of a finger penetrating member (340). The aperture mesh ring has a center clearance area that allows the penetrating member to pierce the skin unobstructed. The aperture mesh ring may contain a series of fluid sampling meshes as to allow the release bodily fluid to 'wick' into the fluid sampling meshes for transport to the respective sensor. The invention may also relate to a method of improving the fluidic flow through a membrane mesh structure for the transportation of bodily fluids from a point of sampling to a point of measurement.

Système et procédé pour le prélèvement de fluide corporel par autopiquage d'un patient. Dans un mode de réalisation, l'anneau d'ouverture à filet pour le prélèvement de l'échantillon de fluide est placé sur la trajectoire d'un élément pénétrant dans le doigt. L'anneau d'ouverture à filet possède une zone centrale libre qui permet à l'élément pénétrant de percer la peau de manière non entravée. Ledit anneau contient une série de filets de prélèvement de fluide qui permettent au fluide corporel libéré de pénétrer par capillarité dans les filets de prélèvement de fluide en vue du transport vers le capteur respectif. La présente invention peut également concerner un procédé permettant d'améliorer le flux fluidique à travers une structure de filet à membrane pour le transport de fluides corporels d'un point de prélèvement à un point de mesure.
