(EN)A process for isomerizing ethylbenzene into xylenes such as para-xylene using a zeolitic catalyst system based on MTW-type zeolite is disclosed. Preferably the two metals are platinum and tin. The invention obtains a stable and improved yield of xylenes such as para-xylene without excess benzene production by dealkylation. The zeolitic silica-to-alumina ratio ranges from 20 to 45. Use of MTW substantially free of mordenite improves yields and integrated aromatics complex economics by reducing undesirable aromatic ring-loss reactions.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé pour l'isomérisation d'éthylbenzène à produire de xylènes, par exemple, de para-xylène, utilisant un système de catalyseur zéolitique à base de zéolite du type MTW. Les deux métaux sont de préférence le platine et l'étain. Ledit procédé permet un rendement de xylènes supérieure et stable, par exemple de para-xylène, sans un production excessif de benzène par dèsalkylation. Le rapport zéolitique silice/alumine est de 20 à 45. L'utilisation de MTW pratiquement exempt de mordenite permet une amélioration de rendements et de l'économie complexe des aromatiques intégrés par une réduction des réactions indésirables de perte de cycles aromatiques.
