(EN)Disclosed is a liquid crystal display element wherein the heat-dissipating properties are improved without using a sapphire transparent body having a large thermal conductivity. Also disclosed is a liquid crystal projector using such an element. In a liquid crystal projector which projects an image by illuminating a liquid crystal display element with light, the liquid crystal display element comprises a driving substrate (11) and a counter substrate (12) arranged opposite to each other with a liquid crystal (10) interposed therebetween and anti-dust substrates (13, 14) respectively bonded to the driving substrate (11) and counter substrate (12). At least one of the anti-dust substrates (13, 14) is composed of a quartz, and antireflective films (19, 20) are respectively formed on surfaces of the anti-dust substrates (13, 14). Specifically, the antireflective film (19) is formed on a surface of the anti-dust substrate (14) on the light incidence side. The anti-dust substrates (13, 14) composed of a quartz respectively have a transparent surface which is parallel to the C axis of the quartz.

L'invention concerne aussi un projecteur à cristaux liquides utilisant un tel élément. Dans un projecteur à cristaux liquides qui projette une image en éclairant un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides avec une lumière, l'élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides comprend un substrat de commande (11) et un contre-substrat (12) disposés face-à-face, un cristal liquide (10) intercalé entre ces derniers, et des substrats anti-poussière (13, 14) liés respectivement au substrat de commande (11) et au contre-substrat (12). Au moins l'un des substrats anti-poussière (13, 14) est constitué de quartz, et des films antireflets (19, 20) sont formés respectivement sur les surfaces des substrats anti-poussière (13, 14). En particulier, le film antireflet (19) est formé sur une surface du substrat anti-poussière (14) sur le côté d'incidence de la lumière. Les substrats anti-poussière (13, 14) constitués de quartz possèdent respectivement une surface transparente qui est parallèle à l'axe C du quartz.
