Abstract: front page image
(EN)A method of treating the surface of a metal substrate by applying a solution containing one or more polyfunctional silylating agents to a metal surface followed by the bonding of one or more secondary metals thereby forming a barrier to the metal surface is provided. A surface coated metal that includes a first metal substrate having at least one surface, a silicon-containing material disposed on at least one surface of the first metal substrate and a second metal disposed on the silicon-containing material is also provided.
