A method for context watermarking includes the steps of performing a Hash function 'D' of the digital content (502). A Hash function 'C' of the context information is also calculated (504). The Hash 'D' is then appended to the context information (506) while the Hash 'C' is appended to the digital content (508). The augmented content and context information are then packaged together (510) with the Hash values 'D' and 'C' helping to bind the content and context together. Instead of using Hash function other more sophisticated signatures can be used like those produced using Discrete Wavelet Transforms (DWT) or fractal-based transforms. An electronic device such as a radio communication device (700) capable of performing context watermarking is also described.

L'invention concerne un procédé de filigranage contextuel consistant à réaliser une fonction de hachage 'D' d'un contenu numérique (502). Une fonction de hachage 'C' d'informations contextuelles est également calculée (504). La valeur de hachage 'D' est ensuite ajoutée aux informations contextuelles (506), la valeur de hachage 'C' étant ajoutée au contenu numérique (508). Le contenu et les informations contextuelles augmentés sont ensuite intégrés ensemble (510), les valeurs de hachage 'D' et 'C' facilitant la liaison du contenu et des informations contextuelles ensemble. A la place d'une fonction de hachage, d'autres signatures plus complexes peuvent être utilisées, telles que celles produites au moyen de transformées en ondelettes (DWT) ou de transformées basées sur les fractales. L'invention concerne également un dispositif électronique, tel qu'un dispositif de radiocommunication (700), permettant de réaliser un filigranage contextuel.
