Abstract

A thermal printing assembly comprised of a first flexible section and a second flexible section joined to such first flexible section. The first section of such assembly is a thermally sensitive media that contains either a thermal transfer ribbon or a direct thermal sensitive substrate (such as thermal paper); the thermally sensitive media is adapted to change its concentration of ink upon the application of heat. The second section of such assembly is a flexible support with two sides, at least one of which has a smoothness of less than 50 Sheffield Units and contains particles with a Knoop hardness of less than about 800.

L'invention concerne un ensemble d'impression thermique comprenant une première section souple et une deuxième section souple qui est reliée à ladite première section souple. La première section souple de l'ensemble est un support à sensibilité thermique qui comporte soit un ruban de transfert thermique, soit un substrat à sensibilité thermique directe (par exemple du papier thermique), le support à sensibilité thermique étant conçu pour changer sa concentration en encre lors de l'application de chaleur. La deuxième section de l'ensemble est un support souple comportant deux faces dont au moins une présente un lissé inférieur à 50 unités Sheffield et comporte des particules présentant une dureté Knoop approximativement inférieure à 800.
