Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a device (10) for providing a gas composition compensated acoustic measurement of the level of a liquid (16) in a tank (18). The device comprises a transducer (14) arranged outside said liquid for transmitting and receiving acoustic signals, and a waveguide (12) connected to said transducer and extending into the liquid. The device further comprises means for feeding a flow of fluid from said tank into the part of said waveguide which is located above the liquid level. That results in that the gas composition become essentially similar throughout the whole of the waveguide located above the liquid level, whereby the level measurement using the speed of sound in the waveguide, which speed is dependant on gas composition, becomes very accurate.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif (10) qui permet de réaliser des mesures acoustiques, corrigées en fonction du mélange gazeux, du niveau d'un liquide (16) contenu dans un réservoir (18). Ce dispositif comprend un transducteur (14) placé à l'extérieur dudit liquide pour transmettre et recevoir des signaux acoustiques, ainsi qu'un guide d'onde (12) connecté audit transducteur qui plonge dans le liquide. De plus, ce dispositif comprend des moyens d'alimentation d'une partie dudit guide d'onde située au-dessus du niveau du liquide en un flux de liquide provenant dudit réservoir. Le mélange gazeux devient ainsi essentiellement identique tout au long du guide d'onde situé au-dessus du niveau du liquide, ce qui permet d'obtenir des mesures très précises du niveau du liquide, lesquelles mesures font intervenir la vitesse du son dans le guide d'onde. La vitesse du son dépend du mélange gazeux.
