(EN)A particulate bone of defined sizes which has a unique property of direct bone osteoinduction without going through endochondral ossification stage is disclosed. The bone is not subjected to chemical extraction or decalcification. This allows for the retention of all physiologically active components of native bone. The invention hinges on the newly discovered ability of bone particles of defined sizes to exert osteoinduction by a pathway superior to and distinct from demineralized bone matrix and similar preparations.
(FR)L'invention concerne un tissu osseux en particules de tailles prédéfinies qui présente le pouvoir inédit de produire une ostéoinduction sans passer par l'étape d'ossification endochondrale. Ce tissu osseux ne subit ni extraction chimique, ni décalcification. Il assure ainsi la conservation de tous les composants physiologiquement actifs de l'os naturel. Cette invention s'appuie sur la capacité récemment découverte des particules osseuses de tailles prédéterminées de produire l'ostéoinduction par un processus plus performant que la matrice osseuse déminéralisée ou des préparations analogues, et distinct de ces dernières.
