Abstract
(EN) Process for polymerizing at least one olefinic monomer in a loop reactor at from 20 to 150°C, but below the melting point of the polymer to be formed, and a pressure of from 5 to 100 bar, where the polymer formed is present in a suspension in a liquid or supercritical suspension medium and this suspension is circulated by means of an axial pump, wherein the polymerization is carried out at an average solids concentration in the reactor of more than 53% by weight, based on the total mass of the contents of the reactor, in the case of continuous product discharge and at an average solids concentration in the reactor of more than 45% by weight, based on the total mass of the contents of the reactor, in the case of discontinuous product discharge, and wherein the polymerization is carried out at an ethylene concentration of at least 10 mol%, based on the suspension medium. The loop reactor has a diameter which varies by at least 10% and in which there is at least one widening and narrowing in a region other than that of the axial pump.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un processus permettant de polymériser au moins un monomère oléfinique dans un réacteur à boucle entre 20 degrés Celsius et 150 °C, mais en dessous du point de fusion de ce polymère à former et, à une pression comprise entre cinq et cent bars, le polymère formé étant présent en suspension dans un liquide ou dans un milieu de suspension super critique et cette suspension est circulée au moyen d'une pompe axiale. Cette polymérisation est effectuée à une concentration de solides moyenne dans ce réacteur supérieure à 53 % en masse, fondée sur la masse totale des contenus de ce réacteur, dans le cas d'une évacuation de produits continue et, à une concentration de solides moyenne dans le réacteur > 45 % en masse, fondée sur la masse totale des contenus de ce réacteur, en cas d'évacuation de produits discontinue. La polymérisation est effectuée à une concentration d'éthylène d'au moins 10% mole, fondée sur le milieu de suspension. Ce réacteur à boucle possède un diamètre qui varie d'au moins 10 % et dans lequel il existe au moins un élargissement et un rétrécissement dans une région différente de celle de la pompe axiale.
