(EN) A rechargeable electrochemical cell charger is provided for charging electrochemical cells at high current rates. The charger provides a sufficient force between the charge contacts and the cell terminals to remove nonconductive contaminants when the cell is inserted into the charger, thereby increasing the conductivity at the point of contact. The charger can include an air moving system for the dissipation of heat from the electrochemical cell during charging, and a heat sensor to determined the cell temperature during charging.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un chargeur à fort débit de courant de piles électrochimiques rechargeables. Ledit chargeur, qui fournit une force suffisante entre les contacts de charge et les bornes de la pile pour éliminer les contaminants non conducteurs lorsqu'on y insère la pile, augmentant ainsi la conductivité des points de contact, comporte en outre un système de circulation d'air dissipant la chaleur dégagée par la pile pendant la charge ainsi qu'un thermomètre mesurant la température de la pile pendant la charge.
