Title (EN) MEDICAL ARTICLES INCORPORATING SURFACE CAPILLARY FIBER
(FR) ARTICLES MEDICAUX CONTENANT UNE FIBRE CAPILLAIRE DE SURFACE
Abstract: front page image
(EN)Medical devices are described that comprise surface capillary (SCF) fibers(194), which can impart desirable properties to the devices. For example, implantable prostheses (152) are described comprising SCF fibers (194). In other embodiments, catheters (280) are described having SCF fibers along the surface of the catheters. In addition, SCF fibers (194) can be useful for the delivery of bioactive agents in association with the fibers. Due to the fluid flow capabilities of the fibers (194), medical devices are described that incorporate fiber matrices to facilitate blood delivery to cells within the structure.
