A patterned magnetic recording medium [100] for use in heat assisted magnetic recording comprises an electrically conductive heat sink layer [108] and a plurality of discrete magnetic recording elements [104] positioned adjacent to a first surface of the heat sink layer. Disc drives that include the patterned medium and a method of magnetic recording using the patterned media are also included.

L'invention concerne un support d'enregistrement magnétique structuré [100] à utiliser dans un enregistrement magnétique avec assistance thermique et comprenant une couche de dissipateur thermique électriquement conductrice [108] et une pluralité d'éléments d'enregistrement magnétiques distincts [104] positionnés de manière adjacente à une première surface de la couche de dissipateur thermique.
