(EN)An apparatus for detecting and/or locating a fibre-optic cable (170) by applying a magnetic field with a component parallel to the cable (170) and detecting the cumulative rotation of polarisation of a polarised beam passing through the magnetic field multiple times. The beam is preferably input into the cable (170) multiple times, with the same polarisation and amplitude each cycle. In this case, a regeneration stage (800) is provided to recycle the beam with the correct amplitude and polarisation. A method of detecting a fibre-optic cable (170) is also disclosed.
(FR)L'invention concerne un appareil de détection et/ou de localisation d'un câble à fibres optiques (170) par l'application d'un champ magnétique ayant une composante parallèle au câble (170) et la détection de la rotation cumulative de polarisation d'un faisceau polarisé traversant plusieurs fois le champ magnétique. Le faisceau est, de préférence, introduit dans le câble (170) plusieurs fois, avec la même polarisation et la même amplitude dans chaque cycle. En l'occurrence, un étage de régénération (800) permet le recyclage du faisceau avec l'amplitude et la polarisation correctes.
