(EN)The present invention relates to increasing the photosensitivity of optical fibers. One aspect of the present invention comprises a method for rapidly diffusing hydrogen or deuterium into an optical fiber from a gas mixture having a low total hydrogen content to generate changes in the refractive index of the optical fiber. The resulting photosensitive fiber may be used to create optical devices including Bragg gratings and Bragg grating-based devices.
(FR)Cette invention a pour but de permettre l'augmentation de la photosensibilité de fibres optiques. Dans l'un de ses aspects, cette invention concerne un procédé permettant de diffuser rapidement de l'hydrogène ou du deutérium dans une fibre optique à partir d'un mélange gazeux ayant une faible teneur totale en hydrogène, en vue d'entraîner des variations de l'indice de réfraction de la fibre optique. La fibre photosensible qui en résulte peut servir à créer des dispositifs optiques, tels que des réseaux de Bragg et des dispositifs à base de réseaux de Bragg.
