The Adsorption Chiller consists in a heat pump with adsorption, where the adsorbing medium is Silicagel and the adsorbed medium water, which can transform hot water 50-90¤C temperature into chilled water for air-conditioning with COP of 0,6 with continuous cyclic operation, contrary to the known Silicagel heat pumps, which work interchanging the roles of the adsorption and regeneration chambers, resulting a high cost and low efficiency. The cyclic continuous operation of the new Adsorption Chiller minimizes the losses and improves the efficiency, permitting the construction of small power models, suitable for applications of solar air-conditioning in residencies or of air-conditioning of vehicles using the rejected heat from the motor. In addition the minimization of moving parts and the inherent good thermal insulation contribute also in the improvement of the reliability and if the reduction of the cost of the new Adsorption Chiller.

La présente invention concerne un refroidisseur à adsorption qui est constitué d'une pompe à chaleur fonctionnant à adsorption, dans laquelle le milieu adsorbant est par exemple du silicagel et le milieu adsorbé par exemple de l'eau, qui peut transformer de l'eau chaude à température relativement basse de 50 à 90 °C en une eau froide de 6 à 12 °C convenant pour la climatisation, et ce avec un rendement relativement élevé (COP) de l'ordre de 0,6 à 0,9 et en fonctionnement cyclique continu, contrairement aux pompes à chaleur à silicagel connues à ce jour, qui travaillent de manière discontinue, interchangeant les rôles des chambres d'adsorption et de régénération, ce qui se traduit par des coûts élevés et une dégradation de leur rendement. Le mode de fonctionnement du nouveau refroidisseur à adsorption permet une récupération de la chaleur adsorbée par échange cyclique des rôles des chambres d'adsorption et de régénération du silicagel, et surtout approximativement au même niveau de température, ce qui minimise les pertes et améliore le rendement, tandis que parallèlement ce mode de fonctionnement permet la fabrication de modèles de faible puissance et à haut rendement, convenant à des applications de climatisation solaire dans des résidences, des bureaux etc., ou de climatisation de véhicules au moyen de la chaleur rejetée provenant du refroidissement du moteur etc., et ce à un coût compétitif. De plus, la minimisation des pièces mobiles et la bonne isolation thermique intrinsèque contribuent également à l'amélioration de la fiabilité et du rendement et à la réduction des coûts de ce nouveau refroidisseur à adsorption.
