(EN)The present invention relates to methods for assessing an individual's susceptibility to treatment of an inflammatory disease with a dietary supplement. The invention describes the recognition that the sensitivity of an individual to the inflammation suppressing effects of fish oil on TNF-a production is linked both to genetic variation encoded by, or associated with, TNF-a, LT-a and/or IL-6 single nucleotide polymorphisms and to the inherent level of production of TNF-a by cells.
(FR)L'invention concerne des méthodes pour évaluer une prédisposition d'individu à un traitement de maladies inflammatoires avec un supplément alimentaire. L'invention concerne la reconnaissance de la sensibilité d'un individu par rapport aux effets de suppression d'inflammations d'huile de poisson sur la production TNF-$g(a) liée à la fois à une variation génétique codée par des polymorphismes nucléotiques uniques TNF-$g(a), LT-$g(a) et/ou IL-6 ou associés à ces polymorphismes, et liée au niveau inhérent de production de TNF-$g(a) par les cellules.
