Abstract:
(EN) It is advantageous to record programs comprised in stream of audio-visual data in one contiguous space on a recording medium. While recording a stream of audio-visual data, the boundaries between programs are not directly known, let alone the sizes of the programs. This is disadvantageous when the stream of audio-visual data is long and comprises multiple programs and only small contiguous areas of free space area available, as programs may be stored in fragments.A method and apparatus are provided for determining boundaries between the programs, determining the sizes of the stored programs and storing the programs in contiguous areas on a recording medium.
(FR) Il est intéressant d'enregistrer des programmes, formés d'un flux de données audiovisuelles, dans un espace contigu sur un support d'enregistrement. Lors de l'enregistrement d'un flux de données audiovisuelles, les limites entre les programmes ne sont pas directement connues, hormis la taille des programmes. Ceci est problématique lorsque le flux de données audiovisuelles est long et comprend plusieurs programmes et que seulement de petites zones contiguës d'espace libre sont disponibles, étant donné que les programmes peuvent être stockés par fragments. On utilise un procédé et un appareil pour déterminer les limites entre les programmes, déterminer la taille des programmes stockés et stocker sur un support d'enregistrement, les programmes dans des zones contiguës.
