Personal communication device, e.g., telephone handsets and headsets, with acoustic stray field cancellation employ echo canceling receiver with two not-in-phase displacement sources formed by a driver, an acoustic cavity for each source, and an output port in acoustic connection with each source such that acoustic length between acoustic centers of the ports is less than the distance between the acoustic center of each port and the acoustic center of the corresponding source. Ports may be located on a same surface of a source and/or each acoustically coupled to a dedicated driver. The ports may be driven and tuned so when the device is worn, the ratio of acoustic pressure at a first location (e.g., ear) to (1) acoustic pressure at a second location (e.g. optional transmit module) and/or (2) sound pressure gradient in a given direction at the second location is substantially greater than with either port alone.

La présente invention concerne des dispositifs de communication personnelle, tels que des combinés et casques téléphoniques, capable de suppression des champs de dispersion acoustique. On utilise à cet effet un récepteur à suppression d'écho dont les deux sources à déplacement déphasé sont constituées d'un pilote, d'une cavité acoustique pour chaque source, et d'un orifice de sortie en liaison acoustique avec chaque source, de façon que la longueur acoustique entre les centres acoustiques des orifices soit inférieure à la distance entre le centre acoustique de chaque orifice et le centre acoustique de la source correspondante. Les orifices peuvent être situés sur la même surface que la source, et/ou acoustiquement couplés à un pilote spécialisé. Les orifices peuvent être pilotés et accordés de façon que lorsqu'on porte le dispositif, le rapport entre, d'une part la pression acoustique en un premier emplacement (par exemple l'oreille), et d'autre part (1) la pression acoustique en un second emplacement (par exemple un module émetteur facultatif) et/ou (2) le gradient de pression sonore selon un sens donné en ce second emplacement soit sensiblement supérieur qu'avec l'un ou l'autre des deux orifices considéré seul.
