Abstract:
(EN) A facility for determining the 3-dimensional location and orientation of a subject surface in a distinguished perspective image of the subject surface is described. The subject surface has innate visual features, a subset of which are selected (216). The facility uses the location of the selected visual features in a perspective image of the subject surface that precedes the distinguished perspective image in time to identify search zones in the distinguished perspective image. The facility searches the identified search zones for the selected visual features to determine the 2-dimensional locations at which the selected visual features occur. Based on the determined 2-dimensional locations, the facility determines the 3-dimensional location and orientation of the subject surface in the distinguished perspective image(210, 230, 220).
(FR) L'invention concerne une fonction permettant de déterminer la localisation tridimensionnelle et l'orientation d'une surface de sujet dans une image de perspective distinctive de la surface du sujet. Ladite surface de sujet présente des caractéristiques visuelles innées, un sous-ensemble de ces caractéristiques étant sélectionné. Ladite fonction utilise la localisation de caractéristiques visuelles sélectionnées dans une image de perspective de la surface du sujet antérieure à une image de perspective distinctive afin d'identifier des zones de recherche dans ladite image de perspective distinctive. La fonction permet de rechercher des zones de recherche identifiées pour les caractéristiques visuelles sélectionnées afin de déterminer les localisations bidimentionnelles au niveau desquelles apparaissent les caractéristiques visuelles sélectionnées. En fonction des localisations bidimentionnelles, la fonction permet de déterminer la localisation tridimensionnelle et l'orientation de la surface du sujet dans l'image de perspective distinctive.
