(EN)A compound represented by the following general formula (1) (wherein R represents a group which is easily hydrolyzed in vivo and removed) or its salt. This compound can be used in producing a carbapenem antibacterial agent of the prodrug type for oral administration. By using this compound in a process for producing the above antibacterial agent, the production efficiency can be elevated and the production cost can be reduced.

Ce composé peut s'utiliser dans la fabrication d'un agent antibactérien à base de carbapenem du type de promédicament, à des fins d'administration par voie orale. En utilisant ce composé dans un processus de fabrication d'agent antibactérien, on peut augmenter efficacement les volumes de fabrication et d'en réduire les coûts.
