(EN)A patient restraint member is provided for medical procedures, such as radiation therapy. The restraint member is formed from a sheet of thermoplastic material that can be softened upon heating so as to be formable into a shape corresponding to a patient's body part to be restrained and setting upon cooling to retain the shape. The sheet includes spaced apart groups of perforations which minimize shrinkage during the formation process. The sheet also includes solid bands extending between the groups of perforation to provide rigidity and strength to the formed sheet.
(FR)L'invention concerne un élément de retenue de patient destiné à des opérations médicales, telles qu'une radiothérapie. Cet élément de retenue est constitué d'une feuille de matière thermoplastique pouvant se ramollir lors d'un chauffage de façon à se déformer et à épouser une partie du corps à retenir, puis se durcir lors d'un refroidissement de manière à conserver cette forme. Cette feuille comprend des groupes espacés de perforations permettant de limiter le retrait pendant le processus de formation. Ladite feuille comprend également des bandes solides se prolongeant entre les groupes de perforations et conférant une rigidité et une résistance élevées à la feuille ainsi formée.
