Abstract:
(EN) The present invention provides a means to produce an image in gray scale on a film using direct thermal imaging, and preferably near infrared direct thermal imaging. The present invention provides a multi-layered, laminated, non-cavitated film that has proper surface characteristics and heat transfer properties by virtue of the proper combination of polymeric layers and coatings, in particular, the active direct thermal coating, and topcoat which produce direct thermal imaging with gray scale. Such a film may be used for temporary personal identification devices, for instance, hospital wristbands and backstage passes, and may incorporate bar code data, photographs as well as other pertinent data.
(FR) L'invention porte sur un moyen de formation d'images en échelle de gris sur un film par impression thermique directe de préférence à l'aide d'un rayonnement thermique direct de préférence dans l'UV proche. On utilise à cet effet film laminé multicouche non cavité présentant des caractéristiques propres de surface et des propriétés de transfert thermique dues à une combinaison propre de couches de polymère et de revêtements dont le revêtement actif sous l'effet du rayonnement thermique, et le revêtement supérieur où se forme l'image en échelle de gris sous l'effet du rayonnement thermique direct. On peut utiliser un tel film dans des dispositifs d'identification temporaire de personnes, tels que des bracelets ou passes d'accès aux zones réservées pour hôpitaux, qui peuvent comporter des données de code-barres, des photographies ou d'autres données de cette nature.
