(EN)Described is a fingertip electrosurgical medical device useful for tissue grasping and tissue cutting, coagulating, welding and ablating in open and laparoscopic surgery applications. The electrosurgical medical device has a finger cuff (20) assembly that attaches to the distal end of a surgeon's finger. An electrode (25) is attached t, or is intrinsically part of, the finger cuff assembly. This electrode is connected to at least one electrically conductive wire that is adapted to transmit electric current to the electrode. The electrode may take any number of shapes depending upon the surgical procedure. Generally, two finger cuff assemblies are used in an opposable relationship to facilitate energy transfer or tissue grasping functions performed by the surgeon.
(FR)L'invention concerne un dispositif médical électrochirurgical en bout de doigt, utile pour la préhension, la découpe, la coagulation, la soudure et l'ablation de tissu dans les applications de chirurgie ouverte et laparoscopique. Le dispositif comprend un ensemble coiffe en bout de doigt qui se fixe à l'extrémité d'un doigt du chirurgien. Une électrode est fixée à l'ensemble, ou bien en fait partie. Cette électrode est reliée au moins à un fil conducteur qui lui transmet du courant électrique. L'électrode peut prendre un nombre quelconque de formes selon la procédure chirurgicale. En règle générale, on utilise deux ensembles de ce type en relation opposée pour faciliter l'exécution des fonctions de transfert d'énergie ou de préhension de tissu par le chirurgien.
