Improved fuel compositions have improved flaw properties for use in zinc/air (oxygen) fuel cell systems. In some embodiments, an improved fuel composition comprises a collection of particles having zinc and at least one non-zinc metal having improved physical properties such as narrower particle size distributions and improved morphology. In one embodiment, the fuel composition comprising the improved collection of metal particles can be generated by applying an external EMF to a fuel regeneration solution. An improved regeneration solution (210) can comprise an electrolyte, zincate ions and at least one non-zinc metal. Due to the presence of the non-zinc metal, and other additives, in the regeneration solution (210), the improved regeneration solution (210) can be used to generate an improved fuel composition comprising a collection of particles having zinc and at least one non-zinc metal.

L'invention concerne des compositions de combustible améliorées ayant des propriétés de flux améliorées, pour systèmes de pile à combustible de type zinc/air (oxygène). Selon certaines variantes, la composition renferme une série de particules qui comportent du zinc et au moins un métal autre que le zinc ayant des propriétés physiques améliorées, du type distributions de taille de particule plus étroite, et une morphologie améliorée. Selon une variante, la composition qui renferme ces particules peut résulter de l'application d'une FEM externe à une solution de régénération de combustible. Une telle solution améliorée (210) peut renfermer un électrolyte, des ions zincate et au moins un métal autre que le zinc. La présence de ce métal autre que le zinc et d'autres additifs permet d'utiliser la solution améliorée (210) pour l'élaboration d'une composition de combustible améliorée qui renferme une série de particules contenant du zinc et au moins un métal autre que le zinc.
