An image display system includes a screen comprising a pair of substrates with transparent electrodes provided thereon, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the substrates, the liquid crystal layer containing a cured resin and being capable of exhibiting a light transmissive state and a light scattering state; and an image-projecting unit for projecting an image on the screen; wherein a frame comprising a combination of the light transmissive state and the light scattering state as a minimum repetitive satisfies a certain relationship.

L'invention concerne un système d'affichage d'images qui comprend un écran composé d'une paire de substrats pourvus d'électrodes transparentes et une couche de cristaux liquides prise en sandwich entre les substrats. Cette couche de cristaux liquides, qui contient une résine durcie, peut présenter un état de transmission de la lumière et un état de diffusion de la lumière. Ce système d'affichage d'images comprend également une unité de projection d'images qui permet de projeter une image sur l'écran. Une trame comprenant une combinaison de l'état de transmission de la lumière et de l'état de diffusion de la lumière, en tant qu'unité de répétition minimum, exprime un certain rapport.
