A heater diverter valve (20) is provided in an engine cooling system having a radiator, a pump to circulate coolant through an engine supply line to the engine, from the engine to the radiator and from the radiator back to the pump through a pump return line. The valve has a first inlet (31) connected to a heater so that coolant which flows from the engine supply line through the engine and then through the heater is returned to the pump return line through the valve via the first inlet and an outlet (33). A second inlet (32) is connected to engine and transmission oil coolers so that coolant which flows from the engine supply line through the coolers is returned to the pump return line via the second inlet and the outlet. The valve includes a shuttle (24) having a valve member (25) which at lower coolant temperatures closes off the second inlet (32) to prevent coolant flow thorough the oil coolers. The second inlet (32) is opened at higher temperatures when a wax type thermal actuator pushes the shuttle towards the first inlet (31).

L'invention concerne une vanne d'aiguillage (20) disposée dans un système de refroidissement pour moteur comprenant un radiateur, une pompe permettant de faire circuler un liquide de refroidissement à travers une conduite d'alimentation du moteur, du moteur vers le radiateur et du radiateur vers la pompe à travers la conduite de retour de la pompe. Ladite vanne présente une première entrée (31) reliée à un dispositif de chauffage, de sorte que le liquide de refroidissement qui s'écoule de la conduite d'alimentation du moteur à travers le moteur puis à travers le dispositif de chauffage revient vers la conduite de retour de la pompe, à travers la vanne, par l'intermédiaire de la première entrée et d'une sortie (33). Une seconde entrée (32) est reliée aux radiateurs d'huile du moteur et de la transmission, de sorte que le liquide de refroidissement qui s'écoule de la conduite d'alimentation du moteur, à travers les radiateurs, revient vers la conduite de retour de la pompe, par l'intermédiaire d'une seconde entrée et la sortie. Ladite vanne comprend une navette (24) comprenant un élément vanne (25) qui, à des températures de liquide de refroidissement faibles, obture la seconde entrée (32), ceci permettant d'empêcher le liquide de refroidissement de s'écouler à travers les radiateurs d'huile. La seconde entrée (32) est ouverte à des températures élevées, lorsqu'un actionneur thermique type cire pousse la navette vers la première entrée (31).
