Abstract

A zinc alloy for use in zinc-alkaline batteries having improved gassing properties is prepared from bismuth and indium in a molar ratio of about 1:2, magnesium and with the major part being zinc that is substantially free of lead and mercury. Methods for preparing and using the alloy are also provided.

L'invention concerne un alliage de zinc destiné à être utilisé dans des piles alcalines au zinc possédant des propriétés de dégagement gazeux améliorées et préparé avec du bismuth et de l'indium dans un rapport molaire d'environ 1:2, du magnésium et principalement avec du zinc sensiblement dépourvu de plomb et de mercure. L'invention concerne également des procédés destinés à préparer et à utiliser cet alliage.
