Holographic data storage media (10) having a sandwiched construction are described in which a holographic recording material (11) is sandwiched between two substrates (12, 13). The substrates may be formed with fluid containment features (14, 15) in proximity to outer edges of the respective substrates. Also, the substrates may be formed with centerpieces (16, 17) that are recessed relative to outer surfaces of the respective substrates. The fluid containment features (14, 15) may also provide a vent gap (91) through which gas can escape from the cavity when the holographic recording material (11) is injected. Such substrate features can improve and simplify the media fabrication process and may improve media quality.

La présente invention concerne des supports de données holographiques (10) présentant une conception en sandwich. Un matériau d'enregistrement holographique (11) étant pris en sandwich entre deux substrats (12, 13). Ces substrats peuvent présenter des éléments de confinement de fluides (14, 15) à proximité des arêtes extérieures des substrats respectifs. En outre, ces substrats peuvent présenter des pièces centrales (16, 17) qui sont en retrait par rapport aux surfaces extérieures des substrats respectifs. Les éléments de confinement de fluides (14, 15) peuvent également définir un espace de ventilation (91) à travers lequel du gaz peut s'échapper de la cavité lorsque le matériau d'enregistrement holographique (11) est injecté. De telles caractéristiques de substrat peuvent permettre d'améliorer et de simplifier la fabrication des supports et, également, d'améliorer la qualité de ces supports.
