Abstract

A method for metallurgically attaching a tube (32) to a member (18). A member (18) having a wall (20) is obtained. The wall (20) includes opposing first and second sides (22, 24) and includes a partial extrusion (26) extending above the first side (22). The partial extrusion (26) has a through hole (28). A tube (32) having an end portion (34) is obtained. The tube (32) and the member (18) are positioned with the end portion (34) contacting the second side (24) of the wall (20) proximate the partial extrusion (26). A resistance welding current path is created through the tube (32) and the member (18) proximate the end portion (34) and the partial extrusion (26), and the end portion (34) is relatively moved into and deformingly against the partial extrusion (26) creating a weld zone (36) which includes at least some of the end portion (34) at least some of the partial extrusion (26).

L'invention concerne un procédé de fixation d'un tube (32) sur un élément (18) par voie métallurgique. La paroi (20) présente un premier et un second côtés opposés (22, 24) ainsi qu'une extrusion partielle (26) dépassant au-dessus du premier côté (22). L'extrusion partielle (26) comporte un trou traversant (28). On prend un tube (32) doté d'une partie d'extrémité (34). Le tube (32) et l'élément (18) sont disposés dans la partie d'extrémité (34) en contact avec le second côté (24) de la paroi (20) près de l'extrusion partielle (26). Un chemin pour courant de soudage par résistance est ainsi crée au travers du tube (32) et de l'élément (18) à proximité de la partie d'extrémité (34) et de l'extrusion partielle (26). La partie d'extrémité (34) est amenée relativement et avec déformation contre l'extrusion partielle (26), ce qui crée une zone de soudage (36) comprenant au moins une partie de la partie d'extrémité (34) et au moins une partie de l'extrusion partielle (26).
