The invention is a method for producing a cast cermet anode (32) for metal oxide electrolytic reduction by feeding metallic iron and metallic nickel in solid form to an oxidizing reactor (12); melting and oxidizing the iron and nickel and forming molten nickel ferrite; mixing the molten nickel ferrite with a base metal of high electrical conductivity such as nickel, copper, silver, or alloys thereof in a holding vessel (13) such as ladle or tundish, and casting the mixture into a mold to form a near net shape of the desired anode. Apparatus for carrying out the method, and the resulting product are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une anode en cermet moulé (32) pour réduction électrolytique d'un oxyde métallique. Ce procédé consiste à : alimenter un réacteur d'oxydation (12) en fer métallique et en nickel métallique sous forme solide ; faire fondre le fer et le nickel pour obtenir de la ferrite de nickel fondue ; mélanger la ferrite de nickel fondue avec un métal de base à conductivité électrique élevée tel que nickel, cuivre, argent, seuls ou en alliages, dans un récipient (13) du type poche de coulée ou panier de coulée ; et couler le mélange dans un moule pour obtenir l'anode voulue à la cote près. L'invention concerne également un dispositif utilisé pour ce procédé et le produit ainsi obtenu.
