An optical connector (10) including an optical element (16) having a main body portion that has a plurality of waveguides (24), each waveguide (24) including an angled reflector. The element is supported in a holder (18) that can be used to secure the element (16) to another part (12). When the connector is connected to the other part, the arrangement is such that the waveguides in the element (16) are orthogonal to channels, for example waveguides, in the other part and light can be directed along each waveguide (24) onto its angled reflector and from there reflected into the optical channels (15) in or on the other part (12).

L'invention concerne un raccord (10) optique comprenant un élément optique (16) qui présente une partie de corps principal possédant une pluralité de guides d'ondes (24), chaque guide d'ondes (24) comprenant un réflecteur orienté. Ledit élément (16) est maintenu en place dans un support (18) qui peut être utilisé pour fixer celui-ci à une autre partie (12). Lorsque ledit raccord est raccordé à l'autre partie, l'agencement est tel que les guides d'ondes situés dans ledit élément (16) sont perpendiculaires à des canaux, par exemple des guides d'ondes, situés dans l'autre partie; et que la lumière peut être dirigée le long de chaque guide d'ondes (24) sur son réflecteur orienté, puis réfléchie de cet endroit dans des canaux optiques (15), situés dans ou sur l'autre partie (12).
