A spray-dried composition comprising an inert porous filler and a reaction product of 1) a mixture or reaction product of a magnesium halide, a solvent, an electron donor compound, and a transition metal compound. The filler is substantially spherical and has an average particle size ranging from 1 μm to 12μm. Methods of making spray-dried compositions, catalysts, and polymerization processes employing such compositions are also described.

Composition séchée par pulvérisation qui contient une charge inerte poreuse et un mélange ou produit de réaction d'un halogénure de magnésium, d'un solvant, d'un composé donneur d'électrons et d'un composé de métal de transition. La charge est constituée pratiquement de particules sphériques dont la taille moyenne va de 1 µm à 12 µm. Des méthodes de production desdites compositions séchées par pulvérisation, des catalyseurs et des processus de polymérisation reposant sur l'utilisation desdites compositions sont également décrits.
