Abstract

An accumulation whose fiber deterioration is low even at long-term compression holding performed while heating at about 1000ºC; and a holding material, such as a catalyst support of catalyst converter or a honeycomb body of DPE, comprising the accumulation. In particular, an inorganic staple fiber accumulation for holding material, comprising an accumulation of inorganic staple fibers whose chemical composition comprises 74 to 86 mass% of alumina component and 26 to 14 mass% of silica component and whose mineral composition comprises 15 to 60 mass% of mullite, wherein the accumulation exhibits an average fiber diameter of 2 to 8 μm, 99% or more (including 100%) of the fiber count composed of fibers of 1.5 to 15 μm diameter, and exhibits a specific surface area of 10 m2/g or less; a process for producing the same; and a holding material comprising a sheet molding comprising the accumulation having an organic binder incorporated therein characterized in that the inorganic staple fibers are employed.

L'invention porte sur un produit d'accumulation dont la détérioration des fibres est faible, même en maintenant une compression de longue durée, ce produit étant obtenu par chauffage à environ 1000 °C. L'invention porte également sur un matériau support tel qu'un support catalyseur de convertisseur ou un corps en nid en d'abeille en DPE renfermant ledit produit d'accumulation. L'invention porte notamment sur un produit d'accumulation de fibres courtes inorganiques pour matériau support, les fibres courtes inorganiques ayant une composition chimique correspondant de 74 à 86 % (m/m) d'un composant d'alumine et 26 à 14 % (m/m) d'un composant de silice, et une composition minérale comprenant 15 à 60 % (m/m) de mullite. Le produit d'accumulation présente un diamètre de fibre moyen compris entre 2 et 8 $g(m)m, 99 % ou plus (y compris jusqu'à 100 %) d'une quantité de fibres composé de fibres dont le diamètre est compris entre 1,5 et 15 $g(m)m et présente une aire spécifique inférieure ou égale à 10 m2/g. L'invention porte en outre sur un procédé de production de ce produit d'accumulation et sur un matériau support comprenant un moulage de feuilles renfermant ledit produit d'accumulation dans lequel est incorporé un liant organique et se caractérisant en ce qu'il utilise des fibres courtes inorganiques.
