Die Erfindung betrifft eine modulartig aufgebaute Brennkraftmaschine (1) mit einem Motorgehäuse (17, 117) mit einem Kurbeltrieb (40) mit zumindest einem in einem Zylinder (2) hin- und hergehenden Kolben (4), welcher über eine Pleuelstange (5) auf eine Kurbelwelle (6) einwirkt, mit einem über eine trennbare Kupplung (8) mit der Kurbelwelle (6) verbundenen Wechselgetriebe (10) und einem mit zumindest einer Antriebswelle (15) eines Fahrzeugs verbindbaren Getriebeausgangsstrang (12). Um mit einem Motorkonzept mit geringst möglichem Aufwand möglichst viele Fahrzeugarten abdecken zu können, ist vorgesehen, dass die Brennkraftmaschine (1) zumindest ein die Baugruppen Motorgehäuse (17), Kurbeltrieb (40), Wechselgetriebe (10) und Getriebeausgangsstrang (12) beinhaltendes Hauptmodul (26) und zumindest ein am Hauptmodul (26) anbaubares Nebenmodul (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32) aufweist, wobei Wechselgetriebe (10) und Getriebeausgangsstrang (12) innerhalb des Hauptmoduls (26) mechanisch getrennt ausgeführt und durch Anbauen eines ersten Nebenmoduls (27) am Hauptmodul (26) drehverbindbar sind.

The invention relates to a module-like constructed internal combustion engine (1) comprising an engine case (17, 117) with a crankshaft drive (40) having at least one piston (4), which reciprocates inside a cylinder (2) and which acts upon a crankshaft (6) via a connecting rod (5). The internal combustion engine also comprises a variable-speed transmission (10), which is connected to the crankshaft (6) via a disengageable clutch (8), and comprises a transmission output line (12), which can be connected to at least one drive shaft (15) of a vehicle. The aim of the invention is to use a single engine design to be able to cover as many types of vehicles as possible with the lowest possible expense. To this end, the internal combustion engine (1) comprises at least one main module (26), which includes the following subassemblies: the engine case (17), crankshaft drive (40), variable-speed transmission (10) and transmission output line (12), and comprises at least one secondary module (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32) that can be mounted on the main module (26). The variable-speed transmission (10) and transmission output line (12) are designed so that they are mechanically separate from one another inside the main module (26) but can be rotationally connected by mounting a first secondary module (27) on the main module (26).

Moteur à combustion interne (1) construit de manière modulaire, qui comporte un carter (17, 117) pourvu d'un mécanisme d'embiellage (40) doté d'au moins un piston (4) effectuant un mouvement de va-et-vient dans un cylindre (2), ledit piston agissant sur un vilebrequin (6) via une bielle (5), une boîte de vitesses (10) couplée au vilebrequin (6) par l'intermédiaire d'un embrayage (8) séparable et un ensemble de sortie (12) de boîte de vitesses pouvant être couplé à au moins un arbre de transmission (15) d'un véhicule à moteur. Selon la présente invention, pour pouvoir couvrir avec un seul concept de moteur et des frais aussi réduits que possible un nombre maximal de types de véhicules, ledit moteur à combustion interne (1) possède au moins un module principal (26) contenant les blocs structuraux que sont le carter (17), le mécanisme d'embiellage (40), la boîte de vitesses (10) et l'ensemble de sortie (12) de boîte de vitesses, et au moins un module secondaire (27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32) pouvant être monté sur le module principal (26). La boîte de vitesses (10) et l'ensemble de sortie (12) de boîte de vitesses sont conçus de manière mécaniquement séparée au sein du module principal (26) et peuvent être couplés par rotation, par montage d'un premier module secondaire (27) sur le module principal (26).
