Abstract:
(EN) Design of an optical system (32) incorporating an optical spatial filter (36) uses a software model to optimise the point spread function of an image, by varying both (i) the distance between the image and spatial filter (36) and (ii) the bidirectional scattering transmission function of the spatial filter (36). The spatial filter (36) can be a holographic diffuser for abating colour moire interference arising from multi-layered LCD screens (33,34). The optimisation can take into account the contrast sensitivity function of the human visual system.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de commande de la fonction d'étalement de point d'une image projetée avec ladite image que l'on diffuse par un filtre. Ladite fonction est le résultat de l'application de filtre(s) spatial(aux) sur ladite image. Le contrôle de la fonction s'effectue par la variation de la distance séparant ladite image et ledit (lesdits) filtre(s) spatial(aux) et la variation de la fonction de transmission de diffusion bidirectionnelle du(des) filtre(s) spatial(aux). Le filtre spatial peut être un diffuseur holographique dont le procédé de fabrication lui concède une fonction d'étalement de transmission de diffusion bidirectionnelle bien définie. La commande de ladite fonction d'étalement est particulièrement utile pour maintenir la qualité d'image tout en supprimant l'interférence de type moiré dans des situations où deux motifs périodiques sont superposés et provoquent une interférence de type moiré.
