(EN)The method for automatically testing optical fibres in multi-branch networks implements Optical Time Domain Reflectometry technology (OTDR) in which an optical signal pulse is pumped into a fibre and the respective backscattered signal is periodically analysed to obtain attenuation values according to distance. The method is used to identify the fibre and the position in which attenuation increase of the backscattered signal is found even when the signal is sent upstream of each branch point from which the individual fibres to be tested depart.
(FR)Procédé de test automatique de fibres optiques dans des réseaux à ramifications multiples, qui repose sur la méthode de rétrodiffusion. Selon ledit procédé, une impulsion de signal optique est pompée dans une fibre et le signal rétrodiffusé est périodiquement analysé pour obtenir des valeurs d'atténuation selon la distance. Ledit procédé est utilisé pour identifier la fibre et la position à laquelle est détectée l'augmentation de l'atténuation du signal rétrodiffusé, même lorsque le signal est envoyé en amont de chaque point de ramification à partir duquel se séparent les fibres individuelles à tester.
