Title (EN) TREATMENT OF MAGNETIC PARTICLES
(FR) TRAITEMENT DE PARTICULES MAGNETIQUES
Abstract: front page image
(EN)The invention concerns a method and apparatus for treating magnetic particles, and in particular for washing ultrafine magnetic particles. In the method a porous, magnetisable matrix is magnetised by application of a magnetic field. The magnetic particles which are to be washed are captured magnetically in the matrix and are washed by passing a washing liquid through the matrix. The matrix is then demagnetised to release the magnetic particles which can be washed out of the matrix for recovery.
