An image display unit provided with an image display sheet which seals at least two types of particles different in color and electrification characteristics into between two substrates, at least one of which being transparent, and gives electric field to the particles from an electrode pair consisting of electrodes provided on one or both of the substrates to send the particles flying and display an image. In a first embodiment, the process of forming an image to be displayed comprises the step of applying to between electrodes an electric field pattern in a direction of a particle A flying to a displaying-side substrate to form an image, and the step of applying a pattern reverse (negative) to the above pattern in an electric field direction of a particle B, different in color and electrification characteristics from the particle A, flying to a display-side substrate to form an image, whereby an image deleting step prior to the step of forming an image to be displayed can be omitted.

La présente invention concerne une unité d'affichage d'images comprenant une feuille d'affichage d'images qui scelle au moins deux types de particules de différentes couleurs et caractéristiques d'électrification entre deux substrats, l'un au moins étant transparent, et confère un champ électrique aux particules à partir d'une paire d'électrodes consistant en des électrodes placées sur au moins un substrat pour envoyer les particules volantes et afficher une image. Dans un premier mode de réalisation, le procédé de formation d'une image à afficher comporte plusieurs étapes : - l'application d'un motif de champ électrique entre les électrodes pour former une image et l'application d'un motif inverse (négatif) au motif supérieur dans une direction de champ électrique d'une particule B qui a une couleur et des caractéristiques d'électrification différentes de celles de la particule A et vole jusqu'à un substrat côté affichage pour former une image. L'étape d'effacement de l'image qui précède l'étape de formation d'une image à afficher, peut être omise.
