(EN)A protocol for use of growth factors to stimulate neuronal cell growth and activity in trkB receptor containing cortical tissues, including the entorhinal and hippocampal cortices. The method introduces exogenous growth factor, such as BDNF, NT-4/5 and NT-3, into the EC. The method is useful in therapy of defective, diseased and damaged neurons in the mammalian brain, of particular usefulness for treatment of neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or for normal aging.
(FR)L'invention concerne un protocole d'utilisation des facteurs de croissance afin de stimuler le croissance et l'activité des cellules neuronales dans le récepteur trkB contenant des tissus corticaux, notamment les cortex entorhinal et hippocampique. Cette méthode consiste à introduire un facteur de croissance exogène, tel que BDNF, NT-4/5 et NT-3, dans le cortex entorhinal. Cette méthode est utile dans le traitement de neurones déficients, malades et lésés dans le cerveau mammalien et particulièrement utile pour le traitement de maladies neurodégénératives, telles que la maladie d'Alzheimer, ou pour le vieillissement normal.
